An Evening with Albert Roux 2017

Diners were wooed by a lavish five course dinner cooked by students in West Suffolk College’s Culinary Arts Academy and overseen by Michelin starred chef Albert Roux OBE.  Chef Roux was joined by his Hospitality Consultant and former West Suffolk College student Toby Stuart.

Chef Roux delighted students and staff and guests when he returned to the College last week to host the exclusive evening in the College’s on site fine-dining restaurant Edmunds. Tickets for the event, which were priced at £125 each, were snapped up as soon as they were released.

Guests from the worlds of education, politics and businesses, enjoyed delectable masterpieces including rump of new season lamb with potato and oregano terrine and white chocolate and mascarpone mousse, all with complimentary wine. 

Jo Churchill, MP for Bury St Edmunds also popped in to meet Albert on her way to the count at Abbeycroft Leisure Centre.

Level 3 Food and Beverage Supervision student Will Chinn said, “Working alongside Albert Roux was a really exciting, interesting and enjoyable experience. I learnt a lot”.

Mike Mulvihill, Director of Service Industries, Hospitality and Catering at West Suffolk College said, “It was an honour and privilege to have Monsieur Roux and Mr Stuart back at the College to inspire our future young chefs and front of house staff. We believe in giving all our students excellent work experience opportunities and connections to ensure when they leave us, they all go on to have successful careers.
